A Harvest alternative with flat pricing

Last updated: 5 October 2026. Harvest figures checked against getharvest.com and its help center.

Harvest is a good product, with native apps and 50+ integrations. But since its pricing change, many teams find the bill hard to predict. This page compares the two honestly, with real numbers.

Why people look for a Harvest alternative

Bills that depend on usage

Harvest's Flex billing charges a per-seat rate plus usage charges for active projects, active clients, active tasks and invoicing, calculated from your previous billing period. Harvest's own help center has an entry titled "Why is my second bill higher than my first?" because usage charges first appear at your renewal, not at sign-up. Harvest also offers an Unlimited option with a fixed usage fee, so check which one your account is on.

The features you need sit behind the top tier

On Harvest's pricing page, profitability reporting, timesheet approvals, the activity log and unlimited custom reports are Enterprise-only. Enterprise is $14 per seat per month billed annually, or $17.50 billed monthly.

Day rates are a workaround

Harvest's help center says Harvest "doesn't explicitly support tracking time by day instead of by hour" and offers a workaround. If you bill clients by the day, that is extra setup on every project.

How TimeAJob pricing works

One flat monthly price per plan: Solo $15 for 1 seat, Small Team $35 for up to 3, Team $59 for up to 6 and Agency $119 for up to 15. Extra seats are $10 per month on Team and Agency. There is no charge per invoice, project, client or task, and every plan includes every feature. TimeAJob also grows with your team, but the price is fixed and known before the month starts. See the full pricing page.

What a team actually pays

Team size Harvest Teams Harvest Enterprise TimeAJob
1 person $11 ($9 annual) $17.50 ($14 annual) $15
3 people $33 ($27 annual) $52.50 ($42 annual) $35
6 people $66 ($54 annual) $105 ($84 annual) $59
10 people $110 ($90 annual) $175 ($140 annual) $99 (Team plus 4 extra seats)
15 people $165 ($135 annual) $262.50 ($210 annual) $119

Monthly prices per month, with Harvest's annual-billing price in brackets, before any of Harvest's usage-based charges. Harvest's Teams plan does not include profitability reporting, approvals or the activity log, so the like-for-like column is Enterprise. Harvest is cheaper than TimeAJob for one to three people on its Teams plan. Harvest prices checked on 5 October 2026.

Built in from the first plan

These are included on every TimeAJob plan, with no higher tier to unlock:

Where Harvest is still ahead

Harvest has native Mac, Windows, iOS and Android apps, 50+ integrations including QuickBooks, Xero and Stripe, Harvest Forecast for resource planning, and years of track record. TimeAJob is an installable web app with a REST API (reading your data, plus one endpoint to log time) and no direct integrations yet. If you need a native app or a specific integration today, Harvest may be the better fit. The feature-by-feature comparison has the full list.

Who should switch

Freelancers and small agencies who want a bill they can predict, and teams of six or more who need profitability reporting without paying for Harvest's top tier on every seat.
