Guides
Short, practical, and honest — no padding.
Getting started
1. Add a client under Clients. 2. Add a project for them under Projects — pick hourly, fixed fee, or day-rate billing. 3. Track time against it from the timer at the top of any page, or log it manually under Time Entries. 4. When you're ready to bill, go to Invoices and generate one from that client's unbilled time — it pulls in everything automatically.
Setting up a recurring invoice
Under Invoices → Recurring, choose a client and a schedule (weekly, monthly, or quarterly). Pick time & expenses to bill whatever's unbilled each time it runs, or fixed for a flat recurring amount — a retainer-style arrangement, useful when a client pays the same amount every month regardless of hours. A daily job checks for due schedules and generates the invoice automatically; you can turn on auto-send too, or review each one before sending it yourself.
Inviting a contractor or a guest
Under Team, invite someone by email as a contractor (they can log time and expenses against projects you assign them to, but see no money — no rates, no invoices) or a guest (read-only across the whole account — useful for a bookkeeper or accountant). They accept the invite by signing up or logging in with that email address.
Getting your own data out
Export time entries or invoices as CSV from their own pages, or pull your data programmatically via the read-only API — a key takes one click to generate from Settings.
