Privacy Policy

TimeAJob ("we," "us," or "our") provides a time-tracking and invoicing tool for freelancers and small agencies. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

TimeAJob is operated by IPE Projects (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2021/003176/07).

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never in plain text).

Business data you enter. The clients, projects, tasks, time entries, invoices, and expenses you create in TimeAJob, including any receipt photos you upload.

Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider Paddle collects and processes your payment details directly — we never see or store your card details ourselves.

How we use your information

• To operate the core product — tracking time, generating invoices, and running reports.
• To power optional AI features using Anthropic's Claude API: reading a receipt photo to pre-fill an expense (you always review the result before it's saved), drafting a personalized payment reminder for an overdue invoice, and suggesting a billing rate based on your own project history. Each of these sends only the specific data needed for that feature (e.g. the receipt image, or your own anonymized rate/margin numbers) to Anthropic for that one request — never used to train any model.
• To send transactional email (invoices, payment reminders) via our email provider, Resend.
• To respond to support requests you send us.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except:

• Supabase, our database provider, which stores your account and business data.
• Render, our hosting provider, which runs the application.
• Anthropic, for the specific AI features described above.
• Resend, to deliver transactional email on your behalf.
• Paddle, to process billing for paid plans.
• When required by law.

We do not currently use analytics or tracking cookies of any kind — no visitor or usage tracking beyond what's needed to run the product itself.

Data retention

We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your stored data within a reasonable time.

Your choices

• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
• You can request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, secure credential storage) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data to the best of our ability.

Children's privacy

TimeAJob is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
